Horrifying details emerge after a widow, Jacks (short for Jacqueline), discovers that her husband, James, and his lover, Dylan, were killed in a car accident along a treacherous road in Hawaii. Nick shows up at Jacks’ home, claiming to be Dylan’s fiance. Nick convinces Jacks that they must go to Maui to learn the truth about their significant others’ relationship. Were they in love or merely having a fling? The two learn more than they anticipated, or wanted to, such as that Dylan was pregnant with James’ child. Jacks and Nick begin to have feelings for each other and end up coming home as a couple. But events lead Jacks to suspect that Nick may not be all that he seems. The Good Widow by Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke is full of surprises and keeps the reader intrigued throughout!
