Stillwater Rising by Steena Holmes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book is especially relevant during these unfortunate times where school shootings assault our televisions and newspapers way too often. Stillwater Rising is about just such an event and how a small town must learn to cope in the aftermath. The story is told from the perspectives of different community members, each with their own agenda as to how the town should handle the incident and how the shooter's mother should be treated. Holmes does an amazing job of explaining the emotions of the players as they strive to overcome turmoil and anger in order to find hope once again.
